Comparative Films

In the period covered by The Silent Time Machine project, comparative or multi-regional ethnographic films were very rare. Two of the best known examples are from Gregory Bateson and Margaret Mead’s Character Formation in Different Cultures film series:

  • Bathing Babies in Three Cultures (1954) – dir. Gregory Bateson and Margaret Mead *
  • Childhood Rivalry (1954) – dir. Gregory Bateson and Margaret Mead *
